Pampojila estate is located in the region of Solola in the municipality of Santa Barbara near to the Atitlan Volcano. This close vicinity to the volcano means the farm benefits from its rich volcanic soil.

Alex Herrera bought the Pampojila farm in 2012 following the Agatha storm. This meant all tools had been destroyed and production had stopped, however, through hard work he managed to bring back production and save hundreds of families jobs. The farm consists of 500 hectares at an altitude of 1250 - 1720 metres. 250 hectares contains Red Caturra coffee trees which are all planted between 1470 and 1720 everything lower serves as a nature reserve.

Alex is committed to renovating and developing the farm, firstly by replanting coffee trees and then renovating the mill, this while employing production practices that are responsible, sustainable and socially viable.

At Round Hill we respect our coffee’s journey from farm to cup. Our coffee arrives as green beans – the farmer’s finished product – and we are careful to preserve and compliment the hard work already put in to each bean. We test-roast each coffee and allow it to rest. It is then brewed in a variety of ways to ensure maximum flavour and quality. Origin, variety and process are all key factors in determining each coffee’s individual roast profile – with taste the central focus of everything we do. We focus on each coffee’s unique character and roast to highlight its dynamic flavours and sweetness.
