We are thrilled to bring to our customers this coffee from Uganda grown by the Bukonzo tribespeople. The coffee is grown at high altitude in the Rwenzori Mountains on the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. It is hand harvested and sold as fresh ripe cherries direct to the community washing station at Kalingwe. 

Known as Bukonzo Dream after the farmers desire of being able to provide better opportunities for each generation.

The establishment of the community washing stations is transforming the lives of the farmers, previously the coffee cherries were processed at farm level. Through processing in a purpose built community ‘washing and drying’ centre the extremely high quality of this coffee can be preserved and the farmers can be guaranteed a fair market price.

After wash processing the coffee is dried in the sun and in poly tunnels where it is meticulously attended by the farmers themselves.

The local community level production means there is not a great deal of this coffee available, in fact only 24 sacks were produced so we count ourselves extremely fortunate in managing to obtain some.

If you are looking for a rich fruity coffee, then this one could be for you, but it is different so only if you are looking for something different! It has an amazing cup score!
