Crosby Coffee was established in 2014 when a hobby turned into a passion. We are independently owned by two school friends who constantly push us for improvement.

We are dedicated to sourcing, roasting and serving highest quality coffees. Building relationships with sustainable coffee farmers we are given access to their prime lots of each crop. We are striving to be role models within the industry for others to follow.

Our staple Colombian coffee hails from Planadas, Tolima, where 25 organic certified members of the AGPROCEM association have created this coffee.

Emerging from the shadow of many years of armed conflict, this area of Planadas is home to comparatively traditional coffee production and agroforestry systems. Cedro Alto has helped implement and incentivize this small group to carry out extended in-cherry and aerobic fermentation in order to create an intense winey, fruity profile.

Passiflora

We have partnered with coffee companies Migoti and Omwani to bring you Masenga Hill.

Migoti assists and invests in farmer education to increase quality and yield in their harvests. The producer of Masenga Hill, Daniel Ntunzwenimana, shares his own knowledge with his own neighbours. He's a third-generation farmer who has been producing this lot for 30 years alongside his wife and 6 children.

This coffee has a super creamy mouthfeel with subtle blueberry and marmalade notes.

Masenga Hill

This small lot was purchased from Honduras based Cafesmo, a co-op formed in 2016 with all 250 members. The members are certified as fairtrade and organic with a focus on diversity; employing men and women of all ages and backgrounds. The producer of this lot, Gerardo Mejia learnt from his father who was the first person in Ocotepeque to cultivate with any certifications.

The natural process begins by selecting the sweetest ripe cherries and drying them on plastic blankets at 1400m. At night the blankets are closed for preservation and to not allow humidity absorption. Once the lot has a moisture content of 11% they are ready for sorting at Cafesmo.

The coffee has a typical natural winey sweetness with lots of red ripe fruit and tropical notes.

A perfect coffee for filter and pour-overs.
