Kaku is a family run farm and washing station led by Mr Li, which processes coffee grown by local smallholders as well as their own.

Mr Li and his family have been growing and processing commercial grade coffee for over 20 years - the focus on specialty is less than 5 years old.

Commitment to quality combined with higher than usual elevation means it is already producing excellent lots. This washed Catimor has a great refreshing acidity, with a nice sweetness tying it up.

The Kaku farm is located in Paliang, the largest coffee producing area in Menglian Dai, Lahu and Va Autonomous County, Yunnan.

This lot has been pulped and dry fermented for 12-24 hours before being washed. The drying takes place on patios for roughly 12-16 days.

Kaku is Allpress' third ever Chinese release, and like the prior two, has been sourced by our patners at Indochina.

Indochina has been working in partnership with Yunnan Coffee Traders since they first began importing coffees to the UK in 2016.
