La Leona, Guatemala

The San Marcos region is surrounded by two of Guatemala’s highest peaks, the Tajumulco and Tamaca volcanoes. That being said, the coffee plantations in this area are situated between 1200-1800m above sea level. Five smallholder farms have contributed to this regional blend and the producers are known for their commitment to improving their understanding of the plantation process. They have worked hard over the years to strengthen their infrastructure and the quality of coffees they produce, which has really shown in this year’s harvest.

La Leona is a classic example of coffees from the San Marcos region, which typically taste pleasantly floral. If you are looking for a delicate and balanced everyday brew or a classically Guatemalan coffee for first thing in the morning, this won’t disappoint.
