With volcanic soils, high altitude and an abundance of shade trees, the Mount Elgon Region in Eastern Uganda has the potential to produce world renowned specialty coffee. By working directly with individual farmers, The Coffee Gardens are able to understand their specific needs and ambitions. Together, they work to improve coffee farming practices using climate smart and environmentally sustainable approaches. The Coffee Gardens’ partner farmers grow exceptional coffees, which we process on their micro processing station. The station was designed to maximise the quality, consistency and traceability of these coffees. Through this long term collaboration, farmers are now able secure higher incomes and grow their businesses for themselves and future generations.

Located in Ireland’s tidiest village Birdhill, County Tipperary, The Old Barracks Coffee Roasters and Cafe is the new exciting project from the coffee visionary Alan Andrews of Coffee Culture (Ireland's first coffee education provider). With live roasting, expert baristas, beautiful surroundings and top quality coffee, The Old Barracks Roastery has it all for coffee lovers. The roastery specialises in the world’s greatest coffees and it wholesales to high-end cafes. Thanks to the roastery-café set-up, you will be able to experience the roasting process while having a flat white or filter coffee. Enjoy a sit-in with fellow coffee fans while travelling through some of the best coffee farms in Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi one cup at a time. As a cafe owner, you can even arrange a meeting to roast your own coffee under the supervision of The Old Barracks Roastery‘s team. All the experts are on hand to talk all things coffee with you, from sourcing, storing, roasting, cupping, brewing methods and latte art pours.
