In 2018, Courtney, our then head roaster had the privilege of spending time with Saul Menor Taica on his farm in Huebal Peru. Since then, we've been keeping an eye out for Saul's coffee, and finally managed to secure a lot! On-point, tasty caramel runs through the cup like a thread binding notes of apricot and cranberry together in a mouth-watering smooth shot. Growing Catimor and Caturra Saul has been working closely with Falcon, our sourcing partners in Peru, for the past four years. By making incremental changes such as introducing better cherry selection at harvest, Saul has seen increased yields with an improved cup quality of 4 points. Coming from the highest part of the farm, this lot is 100% Caturra and displays those typical attributes of bright acidity and balanced sweetness rooted in texture. Simply delicious, we are beyond thrilled to have Saul's coffee back!
