And just like that, it's time to welcome Banko Gotiti, our very first Ethiopian coffee of the season! Over the past few years, the relaxation of Ethiopian Commodity Exchange regulations and enhanced traceability has made it possible for smaller regions to sell their coffee as differentiated profiles, highlighting the vast diversity of Ethiopian coffee. Located close to Gedeb Town in Gedeo - traditionally considered Yirgacheffe - coffee produced around the Banko Gotiti washing station is well known for its intense floral and stonefruit-driven character. Buying cherry from 783 local farmers growing Welisho and Dega, their farms are average 2 hectares in size between 1950 and 2100 masl. Offering a silky smooth cup with fruity notes of peach and grape wrapped in a candy sweetness and juicy finish, Banko Gotiti is just in time for sunny days spent with friends.
