This natural geisha will challenge your perception of what a natural tastes like, as this has all the characteristic of a washed. This is a relationship we have established for the future, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

ABOUT
Finca Momoto is named after a beautiful and enigmatic bird known as Momoto in Panama. Its English name is Motmot, and the blue crown species is indigenous to the area. Scientifically known as Momotus, Coeruliceps.

Finca Momoto is 8 hectares in size and located in an area known worldwide for some of the best-produced coffee in the world, the town of Santa Clara, Chiriqui, Panama. 

TERROIR
Finca Momoto is blessed by the uniqueness of its terroir. The area’s microclimate provides high levels of precipitation yearly (approximately 3000 mm). It is located at 1500 - 1900 meters above sea level in a mountain range that receives cool air from the Trade Winds coming from the Caribbean Ocean while receiving an optimum amount of sun due to a large valley facing the Pacific Ocean south of the farm. Its ecosystem provides a biodiversity that favour the accumulation of excellent soil that includes an exuberant flora and fauna which is a constant inspiration to work in harmony with the natural environment. 

PHILOSOPHY
Finca Momoto is dedicated to producing excellent specialty coffee while following a strict set of personal values and innovative ideas of both its co-founders Luis and Aliss. These include being environmentally and socially sustainable, implementation of sustainable farming, building long term, and transparent relationships with their customers. Whilst also incorporating technology and innovative ways to grow and process coffee, the rational use of agrochemicals in the farm combining them with organic and biological products, and a focus on producing and exporting high-quality coffee. 

Momoto would like to be distinguished by their honesty, transparency, and dedication to their customers and partners. In addition, to their location which possesses a set of unique features, such as their special microclimates and the ecosystem that contribute to the large biodiversity which helps builds their terroir. Also, Aliss and Luis care deeply about nature and the environment and so they are working with and not against their natural environment. Moreover, after Aliss has grown up in one of the world’s best-known farms and producers, Finca Hartmann. They have the plan of leaving a beautiful coffee legacy to their children and future generations. Lastly, their varietals portfolio is wide, and it features coffee varieties grown for their delicate and complex flavor attributes.

THE WORKERS
Finca Momoto has three permanent employees belonging to the indigenous Knobe Bugle tribe of Panama. They are the following: Mwiaancito, who is the team leader, Bonifacio, and Clemente. As nature lovers, they are dedicated to the care of the farm. They have a peculiar tradition of caring for the coffee trees as if they were their own families.

This is a collective of that. We are here to showcase the truly exceptional coffees. The one’s normally reserved for barista competitions, which we want to share with you. It is our core believe that coffee is best shared, particularly with those who appreciate them.
