Gatare is one of the oldest washing stations in Rwanda and was one of the first in the country to specialize in high quality coffees.

The Washing Station has already received the “Cup of Excellence” award several times in the past. Gatare is located in the Nyamasheke region in the west of the country. Rwanda is not called the "land of a thousand hills" for nothing - even in the west, the country is lined with countless hills overgrown with coffee bushes.

The nutrient-rich soil and the regular rainfall offer the optimal conditions for growing coffee in Rwanda.
