The Inga community in Aponte are descendants of the pre-Hispanic Incas. The Katurra variety is planted in the Inga region on small household plots at an average altitude of 2,150 meters above sea level. The height of the plant, combined with the volcano Galeras, which continually dumps nutrient-rich ash, results in an extremely complex and sweet coffee.
