ABOUT THE COFFEE
This coffee showcases a classic Kenyan flavour profile, with a wonderfully unique liquorice twist.
Tegu Espresso’s traditional intense blackcurrant flavours are partnered with bitter-sweet liquorice notes, which have been developed through the medium-roast profile we chose for this coffee. Its grape-like acidity has been muted by the roast, making it perfectly balanced for both espresso and cappuccino. The mouthfeel is round, and there’s a deep honey-like sweetness. The juicy blackcurrant notes linger for a long and pleasing aftertaste.

ABOUT THE FARMER
Tegu lies in the foothills between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare range.
The Tegu factory is one of the wet mills owned and operated by Nyeri County Smallholders, near the town of Karatina in Nyeri. The area is famous for the quality and fertility of its soil. It was founded in 1969 and currently has around 1200 members, with each of them owning an average of just under half a hectare, spread across five villages. All of the member farmers have contributed to making this outstanding coffee.
