Well, yup, this is definitely a Kenyan coffee - big pop of smooth sweetness and a satiny, lingering acidity. Sometimes with certain coffees we like to experiment with different roast styles or tweaks to the profile, but when you get a classic illustration of Kenya SL hybrids from Kirinyaga the old “if it ain’t broke…” comes into play.

At the Karumandi factory in the Kirinyaga region, this coffee grown around 1800MASL is washed with the fresh river water and dried in the sun on raised beds. Thanks to a recycling process, the factory re-uses the water throughout the day, to significantly reduce water consumption.

The Baragwi Farmers Co-operative Society Limited was officially registered on Oct 26, 1953, with the aim of promoting the social and economic interests of its members; arranging for coffee processing, grading, packing, transporting and marketing for its members at the best prices; and “any other activity deemed necessary” for the healthy prosperity of its members.
