This coffee produces a pretty avant-garde cup for Costa Rican coffees, due mostly to its natural processing. The pulp of the coffee cherry is left to dry in the sun with the beans which dramatically influences the flavor of the coffee. Bright citrus notes are balanced out with notes of red fruit to produce a cup that will taste great on any pour over brew method.

The farm, Aquiares Estate, is Costa Rica’s largest Rain Forest Alliance certified coffee farm. What’s good for the land is also good for the people. The community at Aquiares are mutually connected. The farm provides services, land, security and good jobs. In return, the coffee farm has benefited from a well-educated community and relies on highly skilled professionals from its community to thrive. Such a level of interdependence has helped contribute to the sense of pride that Aquiareños take in both their community and the coffee.
