Ethiopia Yirgacheffe

In 1995, Clive McCabe established a small coffee roasting business from the garage of his house in the Wicklow Mountains. He purchased a small Probat drum roaster and started supplying a few local businesses with freshly hand roasted Arabica coffees and gourmet leaf teas. The customer base grew as word of mouth spread of the excellent quality of Clive’s hand roasted coffee and the personal service provided. 
In 2005, the demand was too large for the McCabe’s garage and we moved to a small commercial premises in NewtownMountKennedy, Co. Wicklow. 
Stephen, Clive’s only son, joined the family business and Clive passed on his many skills of blending, roasting and purchasing the finest Arabica coffees from around the world. 

Stephen and his wife Portia now buy specialty grade coffee from farmers they know  and place sustainability and environmental issues as a priority in the McCabe's business, taking numerous steps and initiatives to ensure minimal waste and carbon footprint.
