Located in the Kochere district of Yirgacheffe, Reko mountain is a tall, thin peak whose name translates to “challenge,” referring to the arduous challenge of summiting the cliffs. The coffee producers here have adopted its symbolic
value to refer to their challenge of cultivating
and processing the best coffee in the region. The coffee here is marked by its floral, tea-like, and complex quality, grown and processed only a stone’s throw away from the world’s most unique and rare varieties. Even among world-class coffees, Reko is the sparkling gem of washed Ethiopian flavor.
