This exceptional 100% Pacamara lot was produced by Rafael Gerardo Caceres, high in El Salvador’s famous Apaneca-Ilamtepec Mountain Range. All lots are hand-picked and collected in traditional hand woven baskets from December through March. The farm was founded in 1916 by María Magaña Menéndez de Llanos and her husband of Colombian origin Francisco Antonio Llanos. Dr. Llanos migrated to El Salvador with a passion and nostalgia for coffee growing from his native country. The farm was sold by their grand daughter, and purchased by Gerardo Caceres. El Salvador is still experiencing a great deal of political turmoil and social upheaval. The Caceres family works closely with their workers and the community that surrounds them, by providing private doctors and medicine for free and paying above the minimum wage to all labourers. They also help provide education to children in the area. La Corriona has a promising future, with steps being taken towards inclusion of new varieties that provide higher quality in the cup and innovation in processing, giving even better consistency in the quality and traceability of the coffee. The farm has been awarded Cup of Excellence in both 2018 and 2019. This lot was processed as natural for 19 days average of drying, cherries were floated and then moved to raised beds for further drying.
