La Belgica is a farm located in the Antioquia region near the municipality of Concordia. Located 95 kilometers from Medellin, capital of the region, Aldrubal Gomez has 10 hectares of plantation. He divided its surface into 4 lots which differ in altitude and soil characteristics. There is a microclimate in the valleys on the banks of the Cauca, which combines fertile soil through enrichment by volcanic ash in past centuries, ideal for high quality coffee production.

The seeds used of Caturra and Colombia varieties are certified and germinated in the same coffee nursery which avoids the excessive use of agrochemicals with the use of traditional production.

During the harvest, regular people come to select the grains that have reached maturity before being processed.

Using the traditional method, Belgica has standardized its coffee processing process to ensure maximum quality. The coffee is treated according to a natural fermentation process lasting 24 hours. Then mechanical drying is used on the farm to have better control over the process. The humidity is stabilized between 10% and 12% and the temperature does not exceed 40 ° C while avoiding odor contamination and grain damage.
