This coffee is from the FUDAM Association, a 300-member association of organic-certified and Rainforest Alliance certified growers. Founded in 2000 by just seven producers who shared a vision of sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship, FUDAM is comprised of smallholder farmers living in and around the small municipality of La Union in Narino. Growers pick their coffee during the day and depulp in the afternoon, typically fermenting the lots for 16 to 24 hours. The coffees are then generally washed two or three times before being dried in small “casa elbas” or parabolic dryers. This particular lot is lovely with tasting and aroma notes of orange, cocoa, and apricot marmalade.
