Region - Huila

Dulima smallholder co-operative was created in 2009 to honour the coffee profile of the central and south Huila region. Around its mountains, outstanding coffees are grown, which are carefully selected through a rigorous sensory analysis to guarantee the profile consistency and quality. Dulima was inspired by indigenous groups from the southern region of Colombia, representing the ancient culture of its dedicated farmers.

The Huila region in the south west of the country is well known for its coffee quality, but also for being the first historical department in Colombia to begin coffee production. Farmers in Huila are very quality-conscious. Their crops receive a lot of care and attention and they tend to be the most pioneering when it comes to embracing new processing and farming methods. 

Huila coffee is always in high demand and is often preferred as a single origin offering for its balance of acidity and sweetness. The Huilan landscape is dominated by volcanos and mountains, providing a rich terroir of high altitude and fertile soils and offering a wide range of ecosystems where coffee can be grown. The high altitude production confers great attributes to the cup profile such as bright acidity and characteristic sweet notes.

Note for home Espresso users - if you are using in a home espresso machine we strongly recommend you buy as beans and grind at home before use. A grinder is a small investment and will make a huge improvement to your coffee making. We can espresso grind for you, but every home machine is different and so we cannot guarantee it will be suitable for you.

Grey Seal Coffee is a small batch coffee roastery based in rural North Norfolk. We carefully select ethically source green coffee beans and roast for maximum flavour. We mostly roast single origin beans for filter, aeropress and siphon brewing and also have epsresso blends for home enthusiasts and cafe and restaurants. We supply a number of outlet in Norfolk with our beans and also further afield around the UK. We sell home coffee brewing equipment and run regular training courses from the roastery. We are the East Anglia sole distributor for San Remo espresso machines and can provide cafe setup advice. We love to talk about coffee to anybody who will listen!
