This coffee comes from the Guracho Wet Mill in the Guji Zone of Kercha Woreda, Ethiopia.  Sharing a border with the famous Yirgacheffe region, it’s no surprise that the quality from Guji has received so much attention in the specialty coffee world the past few years.  Like Yirgacheffe, these coffees are dynamic and spectacular!  We have been buying coffee from this particular washing station, owned by Kedir Hassen, for a couple years now.  This year, we had the privilege of visiting Kedir in Ethiopia, and personally selecting this special lot.  The family was extremely proud and gracious, sharing with us a unique coffee experience called “Buna Kale”…a dessert like beverage with boiled coffee cherries and goat milk.

A portion of proceeds from our Ethiopian coffees go to support Uryadi’s Village in Ethiopia.  Uryadi’s Village is a permaculture village for orphaned children in Soddo, Ethiopia created by generous efforts of Sandpoint locals.  Uryadi’s gives a voice to women, care for abandoned children and support for familes to keep children in school.  Evans Brothers sponsors 5 children through Uryadi’s.  The village is currently home to more than 75 children.
