This wonderfully fresh and vibrant coffee comes to us from Duvier Horta’s farm, Finca El Mirador, situated in the Planadas municipality of Tolima, Colombia.

It was only five years ago that Duvier Horta diverted Finca El Mirador from commercial-grade coffee to a focus on quality coffee production. These efforts were rewarded in 2019 by winning a ‘Best of Planadas’ auction with a coffee scoring 92 points. (Duvier backed up the win with a silver medal in 2020.)

This particular Caturra selection is harvested at peak ripeness for sweetness and clarity. After pulping, the coffee is fermented very slowly underwater for around 95 hours – a considerably longer time than is usual – aiding intensity of flavour and clarity in the cup.

We were drawn to this coffee for its sprightly, energetic character and soft, citrus sweetness, and hope to purchase from Finca El Mirador again in the future.
