Janaina is the owner of a farm located at high altitude. In Mantiqueira de Minas, at high altitudes these farms enjoy rich soils. In the region there are 7000 coffee producers, with an annual production of one million bags, and this means various varieties of coffee to which Janaina has access.

In 2011, Serra De Mantiquiera became the first region to obtain the Protected Geographical Indication mark for coffee, which indicates that all coffees produced in the region have unique qualities and characteristics, attributed to their origin. 

Janaina has been part of the AMECAFE Women's producer group since 2017. The group has 50 members who meet monthly to exchange opinions and share their own experience regarding coffee cultivation. Their intention is to develop and improve their lives with the help of coffee production.

I wag my head at the thought that some fiery Brazilians are meeting right now in a dance step, for the second harvest. During the harvest, I manually collect the coffee fruits and expose them on the terrace for 7-10 days, until they reach a humidity of 11%.

I return them once every 2-3 hours during the day, in order to obtain a uniform drying. Janaina lives with her husband Edson on their small farm, where they put into practice all the teachings about coffee. If they  have dogs on the farm I know, but if you want a tip, let my contacts below.
