Mustefa Abakeno is a smallholder with 18 hectares of land near Agaro in the Jimma Zone of Western Ethiopia. His farm is located at 2,040masl and is planted with coffee varieties from the Jimma research centre.

This coffee comes from Beshasha washing stations, one of the two Mustefa owns. It has a small disc pulper that is used to wash-process the coffee. Due to a lack of water in the area and limited space to ferment the coffee, Mustefa ferments the pulped coffee for a short period (8 hours) before he moves it to his drying beds (for 13-16 days), and the result is something like a light honey.

Due to subtle differences in location and microclimate, Beshasha now almost exclusively processes washed lots, while naturals are processed on the other washing station, which has more space for drying beds. 

This coffee is defined by its acidity and aromatics. You will experience apple juice, peach, lemonade and jasmine. There might be some subtle spiciness, think cinnamon.

*Although we make every attempt to have seasonal coffee available to order, occasionally some products  are not available to ship immediately because we are in the process of hand-roasting them.*

The roastery dispatch web orders via Royal Mail weekly. All orders of a single 250g bag will be posted Second Class, orders with multiple bags will be posted First Class.
