The Fogo Island is home to just over 37 thousand people. Coffee has been its main export for many years.

First Cape Verde Coffee Beans In The UK

Until recently, this Cape Verde crop has remained relatively off-market.

Investments to the plantation from overseas have allowed larger yields to be produced and now trade to USA and Europe is in full bloom.

Commitment to maintaining, pruning and replanting the plants has increased both yield and quality.

Farmers are also being educated to produce a good crop and a financial, innovative approach is encouraging the modernisation the processing chain.

Tastes of strawberry and hibiscus are apparent, with a balanced acidity and a wet, thin body.

Medium roasts are a medium brown colour and are nicely balanced in flavour, aroma, and acidity. During this process the beans can reach temperatures between 210°C and 220°C, which gives this rich, bold delicious flavour.

Our coffees are traditionally hand roasted by our coffee roaster who has the expert knowledge to roast every batch of coffee to perfection. Whether a mild medium roasted Brazilian Santos is required or a strong high roasted Java, we have the facility to provide our customers with their own specific needs.
